Online Health Insurance

When buying health insurance online consumers need to use due diligence and speak with a broker about the policies they are recommending. There are a lot of websites that are selling health discount policies, these policies are not worth the paper they are printed on! I have had many instances where clients have purchased these policies only to find out that they cover about $100 of a claim, and in health care that does not get you very far. There are plenty of reputable insurance brokers that sell online. Consumers need to do some research and speak to the agent/broker that is trying to sell them these policies, listed below are some questions that you can ask your broker about the policy they are recommending:

What is the coinsurance percentage?
How much is my deductible?
Can you send me an explanation of benefits?
What is the lifetime maximum of the policy?
Is my doctor in the insurance companies network?
Is my local hospital in the insurance companies network?

If the agent/broker that you are working with can answer all of these questions to your liking then you are getting a comprehensive health insurance policy. Always remember if the price of insurance seems to good to be true it probably is!

Is this what America really wants?

I was on Facebook last night after the house passed the health care bill and was amazed at how many people do not know what they are going to receive under this plan. Most of the people that were commenting on the bill think that they will be receiving FREE health insurance! This is the furthest thing from the truth, with no pre-existing conditions and no medical underwriting for these new proposed health plans premiums are going to sky rocket. Take Massachusetts for example they have state wide mandatory health insurance, their premiums are leaps and bounds higher than any other states health insurance premiums and now the entire country is going to be subjected to this. What Washington has done is wrong! They are more worried about their political agendas than what the constituents who elected them want. Its time to change Washington back to the way that our country's founders intended, Representatives that represent the people who voted them into office.

Do we really need Health Reform?

Health insurance reform has been in the works for over a year now and nothing has been done. The system we have now is not flawed it just needs to adapt new technologies and practices that will save our health care system time and money. As Americans we demand the best of everything! So why would we want our government to be the watch dog of our health? If any real business used the government business model to run their company they would not make it out of year one. We have the best doctors, hospitals, treatments and health insurance coverage in the world. Why would we want this to change?

There are many ways to get health insurance coverage, do not wait for the government to decide what benefits you receive. Buy comprehensive health insurance coverage today and from any of the online brokers or visit you local insurance broker for more information.
